What led me to becoming a therapist was several factors:

As a child, I was shy and felt a sensitivity and ability to pick up on others feelings. As I grew older. I realized that sensitivity was a skill and developed it into a Masters in social work.

My grandmother was one of the coolest people I knew. I thought all elders were like her, with amazing stories of fortitude, with a zest for life and willingness to try new things. I was fascinated as to how she seemed so young and my other grandmother who was the same age, seemed so much older. What does one need to develop in life to meet whatever challenges come your way?

I began my career in geriatrics and worked with those with dementia. Later on it developed into working with people of many ages who have been affected by medical issues.

I have lived in the Midwest, East Coast and now West Coast and that helps me connect to people of different backgrounds.

I love meeting people, hearing their stories and helping them develop increased ways of coping. It is a joint process and one which we do together.
